Writer’s Block
“So block me, already.”
I would never actually say
“There’s not one thing I can say to make this better, but I want to try, because that’s just me. Always trying to fix things after I’ve broken them.”
I have a broken track record
“Except I don’t even know where to begin. It’s like my soul has writer’s block, and I know that all words are meaningless. Because with you, actions speak.”
you have a track record too
“So I’ll say my broken peace, and leave you to yours.”
that’s all I know to do
“I was wrong, and probably always will be. So don’t reply… please, don’t.”
I couldn’t read it even if you did
“Just block me.”

Well, I can’t shut up for two seconds together, sooo, my best block breaker is to stand up on a chair and tape two large bits of paper on the wall…up high… then grab some chalks and don’t get off the chair till both the bits paper are covered. Voila! Block gone. Step down. 😀 (That’s an exclusive, just for you)

Sounds more like a hiccup cure to me. Maybe on the next go-round?

Hahaha..I read the poem and was letting it sink in…to see where my mind took me. Then I spied one of the tags “Bloody awful poetry”..and my mind just kinda lost it..hahahaahahhaha.
Anyways , on a serious note. It was GOOD poetry and I enjoyed it. At first it feels like a “poetry duet”..like two people wrote it. When I read it the second time, it feels like one part is what you are saying, in the other what you are thinking?

Ani, you are exactly right. It’s a one man poetry duet. Spoken AND unspoken. And the tag “bloody awful poetry” is an homage to the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer character Spike. If you’re familiar, you’ll get it. If not, PM me.
And thank you so much.

You’re welcome 🙂 and yay!! I love it when I get what the poet was trying to say in the poetry. I feel smart when I get it right..ahahah.
I am familiar with Buffy but never really watched it..at all. And how does one PM someone on WordPress? I’ve been on this site for more than 3 years and still have no idea how to!

Sometimes powerful conversations are easier to have when you’re the only one talking.
